July=Awesomeness.

So I got a chance to discuss a bit in detail the greatness of the beginning of the month of July... but I was so busy from there on out that I didn't have a chance to catch y'all up on my INCREDIBLE week in California, some great opportunities at work, and a crazy awesome night with Chelsea at the Britney concert in Cleveland. Here is my solution... a 9 minute, super entertaining video to highlight the highs of the 7th month of my efficacious year :-)

Sorry, I just attached it form youtube because, for whatever reason, it didn't like being uploaded here directly. boo.

Thanks to Lauren Winstead for some of the fabulous photos!

My Jumbled but Joyous June...

Absence makes the heart grown fonder…. So, didya miss me?

A lot has been goin on, but I guess it’s good that I’ve been livin’ life and havin’ fun, not having an abundance of downtime to sit on my neglected couch with my pearly white macbook and blog everyday. As much as I’d like to do such, that’s just not how I roll most of the time HAHA.

So, I left off talking about my new job at P.C.-Goenner Talent Agency. So far, things have been pretty great. It’s definitely a job that can be pretty chaotic, but it’s great to be doing something I enjoy, but one where I am also learning more everyday. I love the variety of what comes in… of course we get local commercials and such, but things like a global Miracle-Gro commercial, a national Best Buy commercial starring Peyton Manning, and castings for Modern Family have also crossed my screen.

As I entered the new job, I also had the chance to revamp the office. Thanks to Sarah and Paul for the assistance :-)

Here are the in progress shots...

Sarah and I found wine and cheese was a necessity :-)

Here's the lobby with pics of my fabulous talent!

The hallway...

to the bathroom...

ANNND my office room...

Please excuse the broken blind.... i'm TRYING to find one that will fit it!

That’s the job… but let’s see… the end of May and the month of June was pretty exceptional in several other ways as well.

Let’s look at highlights:

Meeting Mark Ballas at the Taste of Cincinnati

But we also had a blast with a magician...

and winning blow-up monkeys that we named Maurice and Moe.

Oh yah… and PUH-LEASE watch this video of this man dancing during one of the concerts BAHAHHAA.

There is SO MUCH WIN in this video. Accolades also awarded to the stylish camo crop top lady for best ill-fitting, drunken dancing.

Then he started a dance lesson... apparently crack is a necessary part of his instruction.

And this is for my friend, Rachel... she can't resist old men or Asian children.

Maurice and Moe had a blast. They sang all the way home... or were throwing up gorilla gang signs... we were unsure.

NEXT- I spent Memorial Day at Cincinnati Zoo with Chelsea and her family...

Sarah and I had a fun night out with some of her old friends...

Sarah and I did an independent film in Cincinnati entitled "Call Me"…

Then Sarah and I, along with her brother and one of my talents, Zach, spent a day Huntington Field in Columbus shooting an independent film, "Gibsonburg," that will be shown at Sundance and potentially on Disney Channel.

Oh yah, and sidenote...in the midst of it all, I did a murder mystery.

Creepy Caper, eh? (P.S. it's me...)

Yea, so I was a little angry... I'm just misunderstood!

All in all, everybody had a good time :-)

June was definitely a month of run-around, but it was full of new beginnings, drama, and new connections.

Overall, aside from the high gas receipts, a pretty stellar 30 days :-)

Kickin' it in Zanesville- OCW Styleeee

It's been a few months since I posted about the crazy world that is OCW wrestling, so it's def time to fill ya in on new developments. I really didn't think it would be, but it's kinda become somewhat of an addiction. I mean, don't get me wrong... I grew up OBSESSED with WWF. Shawn Michaels, Tatanka, Bret Hart, Undertaker.... those are my BOYS! haha But this pulls ya in just as much! I've traveled to Coshocton, Rittman, Lebanon, and Zanesville now to watch these crazy, sweaty characters, and I've been trying to drag along my friends to try and get them to appreciate it as well!

First, I dragged Charmaine there...

Then Chelsea....

You see, over the last few months a handful of the boys have become personal favorites, the ones I always root for and have had the chance to get to know a little bit outside the ring. Let me introduce you to my favorite boys :-)

First, one half of Team VD... MIKEY D!

What a character, eh? And he always gives a shout out to us, "the JUICES" in the audience at shows.

Then we have a another big favorite of my mom and sister as well... the Hi-Def Super Novas, Matt Mason and Robby Starr! Pretty much the best tag team ever.

Then a "Starr" from anotha motha... APOLLO STARR! He has crazy awesome hair. Chels and I thought he should use "Whip My Hair" for his entrance music. It would be stellar.

Then we have Tank. Sherman Tank... Funniest, best smelling guy ever... legit.

Then on to bad guys...
If you know me, you know I have a thing for Italians. Let me introduce you to the Scarboni Brothers :-)

But my fave bad guy has to be Kaden Assad...

Here's me, Kaden, and another fave, Jeremy Madrox. I have trouble classifying him good/bad though. I feel like he fluctuates. Or maybe it's just because I want him to be good :-)

But I obviously have to give props to my brother, Juice Jennings, the "Blue Ribbon Rocker."

Here he is taking on Kaden. It was hard to root for this one. Overall Kaden, being a bad guy and all, cheated and got the win. Psshhh. What a punk. (I still like him though!)

Now you KNOW you wanna come check this out with me sometime, RIGHT?!

It's kind of an odd thing to bring people together, but really, it's my mom, sister, and I's new bonding thing. Nothing like driving to the middle of nowhere to go cheer on spandex-wearing, sweaty men for 2-3 hours.

Hey- don't knock it til ya try it :-)

The Face of Dayton's CW?

I seem to have this odd ability to get caught up in spontaneous situations... whether it be meeting LA Laker and Dancing with The Stars Icon Rick Fox in the Bahamas and accidentally bringing up his ex-wife and Ugly Betty star, Vanessa Williams, getting hit by a car while walking on a sidewalk in Australia, making friends with a NYPD-er and being escorted to a good spot in Times Square for NYE, or one of the more random, having Monster.com call me and ask me to apply to be Alicia Keys' head blogger for iamasuperwoman.com where I ended up becoming a quarter-finalist.

I have one to add to the ever-growing list of antics and adventures.

Last week, I was sitting in Miami Valley Hospital chomping on Chipotle (which is undoubtedly the best thing you can ever consume) as I was waiting for my best friend, Chelsea to get out of an appendectomy. I sat in the cold waiting room dividing my time between making up ridiculous reasons for why my waiting room compadres were... waiting, and watching my girl, Tyra Banks interview some women who had habits and cravings of eating anything from toilet paper, laundry detergent, and even the scabs off their head. Yea... at that point, my obsession with and the frequency of my consumption of Chipotle didn't seem that drastic.

All that to say, at a commercial break my eyes were drawn to an explosion of lime green and opportunity in the form of an open audition to be "THE DAYTON CW STAR." They said they were looking with someone with "charisma, style, and swagga" to be the face of the station. I was intrigued. How could I not? For those of you who know me, you know how accurately they were describing me :-)

Now, for those of you who may not know me... I promise, I'm not one of THOSE people who just see a random shot at "15 minutes of fame" and show up, streamers flyin' and guns blazin' to try and get some attention, but for whatever reason I felt like I needed to be at that audition.

After leaving the hospital (Chelsea's disgruntled appendix was successfully removed, if you were concerned), I spent the next 2 days contemplating going. Some unfortunate scheduling and paperwork issues almost kept me from going, but I couldn't get over the voice saying "GIRLLLL, whatcha got to lose? It's not like you're afraid to talk to people!" I couldn't argue with that stellar sense of reasoning, and Saturday morning Charmaine and I headed out to the Greene.

I was the 4th person to infiltrate the army of lime green shirted staff in The Funny Bone's showroom. As I entered in and stood on an oversized green chicken pock on the floor in front of a groovy little backdrop, I prepped for my little "1 minute plea." The website had suggested we plan a speel and as a university speech instructor, I understand the importance of hitting your time limits. They didn't seem as concerned as one of the smiling judges stopped me about 40 seconds in (I told you I prepped), and said "So you know I have ask you...show me some moves." I had in my blurb alluded to the fact I am a dancer and choreographer but didn't necessarily expect to be asked to prove it. Not that it was a problem... I quickly broke into a piece of "Thriller" and then did a little "Whip My Hair" type moves. See me on the highlight video!

They laughed. Of course. I'm entertaining :-)

After doing a quick liner for the cameras touting "I am Daytons CW First Star!" I headed to the exit where the staffer holding the door was still chuckling and said "That was fantastic!"

Then it was over. As quickly as it started. Leaving me to wonder how it went.

That's until this evening when my phone started singing "Strongerrrr that yesterdayyyy" and I saw an unknown number. I picked it up and received a greeting from 2 screaming individuals. My response? "And who is this?" (Maybe I should have been more coy... enh, not a trait I have...) It was DaytonCW informing me I was one of 25 semi-finalists. From my understanding, that means I compete online for votes with them to fill the final "finals" spot.

What does this mean? I may soon become THAT person who is excruciatingly throwing out pleas for online votes and showing up hardcore in your mini-feed. Yah, annoying I know... but I mean, this could be cool.

I am a fan of spontaneity... so here's to the next right hook in my fight against a mediocre life :-)

What can you get for 6 bucks?

Well, if you are as awesome as me you can get a sweet gold tank for dancin' in and some KILLER gold kicks!! Yes... I paid 3 bucks for each today.

You see, I hit the mall after church with my friend, Chelsea to return some things. (I was not in the market for anything but black boots since my current leather stilettos crapped out on me... thanks pavement during nighttime stroll in D.C.) So among other places, peeked in Charlotte Russe and didn't see anything close to what I needed, but I could not refrain from checking the "Last Pair 50% off rack."

(I used to work at Charlotte, and you learn to constantly keep an eye on what will be progressing to that heavenly location.)

A few pairs of non-attractive shoes my eyes glazed over... and then... mmmm. I saw the shoes about a month ago and thought, "how hot would those be to dance in?" But at $25 bucks, and after recently buying 2 pairs of sneaks for dancing it was unnecessary. BUT- at half off (13-ish) and then having a $10 off any purchase coupon... $3 made it a DUH decision and they were mine :-)

Then during a stroll through JCPenney, a $2.97 loose, fun dance top caught my attention. (Maybe it was a gold day for me or something). Anyway- I never pass on shirts I can dance in if they are under $5 so it was mine as well.

6 bucks never looked so good :-)
